Spooky Tales of the Islands

Outrigger To Host Spine Tingling Storytelling Events
This Halloween on Oahu and Hawaii's Big Island

"Spooky Tales of the Islands" to Feature Noted Author and Storyteller Rick Carroll

By Madelyn Miller

Outrigger Hotels & Resorts presents "Spooky Tales of the Islands," a FREE two-island Halloween event with noted author and storyteller Rick Carroll taking center stage on October 28 at the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach on Oahu, followed by an appearance on October 31 at the Outrigger Waikoloa Beach on Hawaii's Big Island. Carroll is the creator of Chicken Skin, True Spooky Stories of Hawaii and its five best-selling sequels, all of which have been on top or near the top of Hawaii's best seller list.

Strange encounters with the unknown, haunted houses and heiau (sacred temples), 'aumakua (family gods) and ancient bones, night marchers and strange noises, ghosts in graveyards and things that go bump in the night - all this and more will be presented to those brave enough to attend. The stories have been collected from native Hawaiians, local journalists, nationally known authors, scientists and skeptics, frequent visitors and island residents, all of who have experienced the inexplicable in Hawaii. Each and every story is said to be true and each is sure to give you "chicken skin"!
