8th Annual Puerto Vallarta Gourmet Festival
Proceeds As Planned
Top Chefs, Wine Experts and Food Enthusiasts to Gather
Organizers
of the Puerto Vallarta Gourmet Festival have decided to proceed with the 8th
Annual Puerto Vallarta Gourmet Festival, to take place Nov. 7 - 17, 2002,
after positive evaluation of the conditions at the majority of participating
restaurants and resorts.
The damage incurred by Hurricane Kenna is confined. Sixteen of the original
18 participating restaurants and resorts are open for business. We are
disappointed that Avanzare at the Holiday Inn Puerto Vallarta and Murales at
Premiere Hotel & Spa will not be participating due to temporary closures
caused by this natural disaster, commented Thierry Blouet, Co-Founder, but
we look forward to having them as part of next year s festival program.
If anyone needed more proof that Puerto Vallarta is returning to normal,
here it is, said Heinz Reize, Festival Co-Founder. We look forward to
welcoming travelers to this fun-filled annual event, he concluded.
The Puerto Vallarta
Gourmet Festival is a 10-day series of events to showcase the quality and
diversity of the restaurant scene in Puerto Vallarta. Founded by Chefs
Thierry Blouet and Heinz Reize to further Puerto Vallarta s as a culinary
destination, as well as celebrate their excellence. The Festival is
recognized as a leader in the promotion of fine wine and food in Jalisco and
the country through its commitment to education, professional industry
network and hospitality.
