The Return of the King!
Celebrate Elvis’ Birthday at Dick’s Last Resort

January 8, 2004

Now that the funny-looking fat dude in the red velvet suit has left town, it’s time once again to celebrate the birthday of the undisputed King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Elvis Presley.  Elvis Rules from 5 p.m. to closing time Thursday, January 8th at Dick’s Last Resort in the West End of Dallas

Elvis’ birthday party food and drink specials include one of his very favorite platters—Chicken Fried Chicken topped off with yummy Jalapeno gravy, smashed taters, and a Jelly Donut, and $5.50 frozen or on-the-rocks Blue Hawaiian with a priceless souvenir keeper glass.

Join Tiny and the King Pins as they play all those old favorites like “Don’t Be Cruel” and “You Ain’t Nothing But a Hound Dog” to get you in the mood for the Return of the King.  At 8 p.m., it’s the Elvis Impersonator Contest, with lots of prizes, including a $500 grand prize going to the person who looks/sounds/acts the most like the one and only, often-imitated but never-surpassed King.

No cover charge, just come prepared to party, and to whistle, clap and stomp your feet for the best Elvis of them all.  Dick’s Last Resort is located at the corner of Ross and Record Streets in the West End Historic District, easy to get to but hard to leave. For more information or to make a reservation, call 214-747-0001.
