TITAS Music Season Offers The Dallas Debut of Leahy

Canadian group brings Celtic music into the 21st Century

The inaugural Dallas performance of Ontario, Canada’s LEAHY takes place on Wednesday, February 23 at 8:00 PM at SMU’s McFarlin Auditorium. The band has recently kicked off their North American tour, after playing a Canada-U.S. State Dinner in late November 2004 where they wowed President Bush with a rousing version of the Texas-inspired “Orange Blossom Special.”

Hailing from Ontario, Canada, these eight extraordinarily talented Leahy brothers and sisters have been performing together all their lives. Influenced by Celtic, country, classical, folk and pop music, Leahy is a rollicking tour de force that keeps Celtic music vital in the 21st century. The oldest brother, Donnell, is known as one of the best fiddlers in the world. He and the rest of his talented clan have been turning heads even before they were hand-picked to open for Shania Twain on her 1999 world tour. “Their live performance makes Riverdance look like Lawrence Welk re-runs.” (Time Out New York)

A special website has been set up at  http://www.leahymusic.com/onthebus so that fans can see where the band is going, where they have been, and in effect, climb on the bus with people from all around the globe, and follow them on tour. There's a place for fans to talk to each other and the band in the special bus chat room. It's the next best thing to actually being out there on the road! For more information about Leahy, visit www.leahymusic.com.

Tickets ($12-$55) for Leahy are available at the TITAS Box Office, 3101 North Fitzhugh, Suite 301, Dallas, TX or by phoning 214-528-5576 or faxing 214-528-0126, or online at www.titas.org. TITAS also offers a new $5 Student Ticket (K-12) that is available only at the McFarlin Auditorium Box Office on the day of the show.
