The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
Walt Disney World’s latest movie experience
By Marilyn Loeser
Disney-MGM
Studios’ guests will find themselves in yet another movie experience as Walt
Disney World hosts a walk-through attraction based on the Disney Pictures and
Walden Media motion picture, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and
the Wardrobe.
The movie follows the exploits of four siblings during WW
II England, based on the novel written by C.S. Lewis. The children discover the
world of Narnia through a magical wardrobe while playing a game of hide and seek
in the rural country home of an elderly professor.
 The
charming and peaceful land is inhabited by beasts, dwarfs, fauns and giants, and
has become a world cursed to eternal winter by the evil White Witch Jadis.
Aligning with the lion Aslan, the children help fight the
White Witch and her powerful hold over Narnia.
The new attraction — Journey Into Narnia: Creating The
Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe — takes guests behind the scenes of
movie-making magic.
Visitors
enter the frozen world of Narnia through a giant wardrobe and are surrounded by
a wintry landscape, enormous trees and a replica of the lamppost as seen in the
movie. In the distance is the house of Mr. Tumnus beneath a rock bluff
outcropping and the White Witch's Castle.
It’s as if guests have really
entered the magical world of C.S. Lewis' imagination.
Visitors
exit through a gallery that showcases elaborate creatures, costumes, armor,
storyboards, props and set pieces used in making the film.
