England, in the pink

Gay weddings have hit the headlines in December 2005 when Sir Elton John and his partner, David Furnish, were among the first formally recognized same-sex unions in England.

Same sex couples can now finally gain legal recognition of their relationship and officially celebrate tying the knot, surrounded by the people that matter to them.

Where better to celebrate this union than at the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel, in Piccadilly, who offers gay couples a complete ‘Pink Wedding’ package. The Park Lane has been described as London’s monument to Art Deco and is home to high society weddings.

In the lead up to the wedding, the betrothed couple can enjoy a Pink Afternoon Tea in the hotel’s Palm Court, with pink champagne, pink pastries and traditional scones, to the backdrop of soft lights and tranquil harp melodies.

On the wedding day itself, the wedding ceremony takes place in the hotel, followed by a glamorous reception in the Pink Ballroom (capacity 360 guests with dance floor – small rooms are available), a complimentary room for welcome drinks, reception menus, red carpet, cards created by a calligrapher, as well as a wedding cake decorated with two brides (or two grooms), additionally a honeymoon suit and a champagne breakfast.

The Sheraton Park Lane Hotel is also licensed to perform Kosher, Indian and Greek weddings.
