The Cocktail that is going to make me eat more Salads

By Madelyn Miller, the TravelLady

My mother stressed vegetables and salads. She never offered me cocktails.

If only she had known about Jose Cuervo’s Golden Margarita

This delicious blend of Jose Cuervo Gold and Grand Marnier makes serving Margaritas a snap. A simple shake with ice and voila! A Golden Margarita. The combination of the rich orange taste of Grand Marnier®, the refreshing flavor of lime and the premium quality of Jose Cuervo Gold® Tequila delivers a delightful, easy and upscale cocktail indulgence ideal for serving at dinner parties or gatherings with friends and family.

This kind of easy, elegant simplicity is one of the many entertaining tips that Sandra Lee of Semi-Homemade fame told a group of lifestyle and food editors at a recent party in New York. I was one of the lucky ones invited to taste the delicious Golden Margaritas.

And while I will never forget that first taste, I will also remember her suggestions of other uses for Joe Cuervo’s Golden Margarita. She said you could use it as a salad dressing.

Nutritionist need to recognize this idea.

Get people eating more greens by pouring Jose Cuervo’s Golden Margarita on it.

I think Sandra Lee is a genius. Even my mother might agree.

If you haven’t seen her on the Food Network, Sandra Lee is a New York Times best-selling author and nationally acclaimed lifestyle expert. Sandra Lee’s cookbooks offer amazing meals in minutes, fabulous food fixing’s and sensational—yet simple—style ideas. You can see more of her sensible solutions online at www.semihomemade.com

And soon she will be coming out with a cocktail book. I can’t wait to hear what other healthy ideas she has to with cocktails. Maybe with breakfast cereal.

But I digress from the marvelous Golden Margarita.

The Margarita Cocktail was created in 1938 in honor of a beautiful Mexican showgirl named Rita de la Rose. A bartender, inspired by her electrifying performance, improvised a cocktail to capture her heart with Cuervo and the flavor of Mexican limones.  Ever since then the Cuervo Margarita continues to capture the heart of so many around the world.

Jose Cuervo is the largest producer of Tequila throughout Mexico and around the world, exporting more than 50 million liters annually.  In addition to Jose Cuervo Golden Margarita, the Jose Cuervo portfolio of Tequilas includes Jose Cuervo Especial, Jose Cuervo Clásico, Jose Cuervo Black Medallion, Jose Cuervo Tradicional, Jose Cuervo Reserva de la Familia, Authentic Jose Cuervo Margaritas and Jose Cuervo Margarita Mix.  For more information, visit www.cuervo.com

They probably make enough Tequilla to cover all the salads in the world.

Warning to lettuce growers: You might need to increase your crops.
