Celebrate The Beatles!
Beatle fans and Beatle bands from all over the world
will come together in the "Rock and Roll Capital of the World"
August 6-8 to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of The Beatles first North
American tour.
The earth shattering, teen screaming, ear blasting tour
that launched "The British Invasion", visited 23 cities between August 19
and September 20, 1964 and descended upon Cleveland's Public Auditorium on
Sept. 15th.
The majestic building dedicated in 1922 joins Carnegie
Hall, Red Rocks, and The Hollywood Bowl as one of only 4 original venues
remaining in The U.S. from that seminal tour.
To honor that historic visit, The Rock Capital is
rolling out a fab-ulous celebration fitting for Beatle Fans.
-
From now thru July 25th all "Ultimate Ticket To Ride"
travel package customers will be automatically registered in a drawing to
win a trip to Los Angeles to see Sir Paul McCartney himself, live in
concert, Oct. 15th at The Annual Adopt-a-Minefield Benefit Gala.
-
On August 5th tribute band British Export will
recreate the famous roof top concert that ended The Beatles concert career
with an exact reproduction concert from the roof of The Velvet Dog Saloon
in downtown Cleveland's trendy Warehouse Entertainment District.
-
Then on August 6th, over 20,000 Beatle fans from all
over the world will descend upon the celebrated auditorium for Abbey Road
On The River; three fab-filled days of bands, art, films, food, and
friends.
International bands and artists from Japan, The Czech
Republic, Slovakia, Scotland, Liverpool, Nova Scotia, and Toronto, will join
American favorites, Working Class Hero, American English, Hard Days Night,
and Beatlemania Live, and will perform on 4 stages, (aptly named John, Paul,
George, and Ringo), the complete catalogue of all The Beatles recordings.
Canadian recording artist Hal Bruce will attempt to set
a world record by performing all 209 songs The Beatles recorded in a single
set.
World famous Beatles artist Shannon and renowned photo
journalist George Shuba are among 25 gifted artists who will be displaying
rare Beatle art, collectibles, books, and memorabilia.
Scotland's Lawrence Macca as Paul, LA's Tim Piper as
John, Liverpool's Gavin Pring as George, and Chicago's Jim Martin as Ringo
will create a tribute super group and present the Fantasy Reunion Concert we
never got to see: The Lads together in 2004.
An incredible chance for 6 amateur musicians to walk in
the footsteps of their musical heroes, and perform on the Public Auditorium
Stage if they advance to the finals of the "We Hope We Passed The Audition"
Contest.
