Located almost exactly mid point between Martinsville and Indianapolis in Indiana is The Waverly American Grill & Gathering Place. It sits tucked in along Indiana State Road 37 at 7820 Waverly Road, just 1 1/2 miles South of the 144 intersection. Do not let this restaurant’s humble exterior fool you though. Some of the finest food and hospitality in Indiana awaits you inside. The moment you step out of your car you are welcomed by the alluring smell of burning wood used to enhance the favor of the premium quality meats served at the restaurant.

Inside you will find a newly remodeled family friendly atmosphere. Dine in the main area with space designed to accommodate parties up to seventy-five or relax in the full bar. The Waverly American Grill & Gathering Place features delicious Nightly Dinner Specials in addition to their regular entrees. All entrees come with two large portions of classic country sides like one pound potatoes, baked sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, garden fresh green beans, and garden salads. Kids can select from a variety of favorites from their own kid's menu. Enjoy their hand-cut steaks, slow cooked pork ribs and pork chops, fresh chicken and The Waverly's famous catfish grilled over a hardwood flame.

For the past thirty years whenever anyone wanted fresh cooked Catfish in South Central Indiana they came to The Waverly Inn. Seasoned restaurant veterans from Bloomington, Denny Slater and Chris Martin set out to honor this tasty tradition with their new restaurant. Today, The Waverly American Grill & Gathering Place is still the home for savory Southern Style Grilled & Fried Farm Raised Catfish.

Choose from three popular Catfish selections:
The famous deep-fired bone-in "fiddlers."
Boneless fried filets
Grilled catfish filets. The grilled filets are seasoned with your choice of southwestern, Cajun, Italian or lemon pepper seasonings.

Mondays are a great time to drop in for the "All You Can Eat Catfish" special.

Tuesdays: Steak night $3.00 off. The hand-cut steaks include classics like a New York strip, a Filet, a marinated sirloin steak Maui, and a big cowboy sized Ribeye steaks. A personal favorite of mine are the steak fajita's, served with delicious tender, seasoned strips of steak!

Wednesdays: Family Night Kids Eat For a $1.00.

Thursdays come in for the All You Can Eat Ribs that are a crowd favorite. The pork ribs and chops are also slow cooked and secretly seasoned. They are grilled over the hardwoods at the time of serving and coated in the Waverly's signature Sweet & Spicy BBQ sauce.

Enjoy other traditional favorites and Waverly specialties throughout the week like the fresh chicken and whiskey marinated drunken grilled salmon.

Denny Slater is the owner of the Trogan Horse that celebrated its twenty-fifth year in operation on the historic square in downtown Bloomington. Chris Martin is a veteran of several national restaurant and entertainment chains. With their combined experience and expertise they have revived a fading icon of the past and transformed it into a classic restaurant everyone can enjoy.

The central location of The Waverly American Grill & Gathering Place is ideal for intimate gatherings and business meeting in Indiana. It is a short distance from State Highway 465 South on State Road 37, and close to area attractions and accommodations. The private banquet room has a separate entrance and is spacious enough to accommodate up to 75 people. When you dine at The Waverly in the private banquet room for business meetings or celebrating any occasion is there is never a charge for the room. Their friendly staff can also help custom decorate the room, while their experienced chef works with you to customize the menu to meet your needs.

Bike Night is also on Thursdays throughout August, and will continue through the fall on Friday nights.

The Waverly American Grill & Gathering Place open's daily Monday through Saturday at 11am. Doors open at Noon Sundays. They close at 10pm weeknights and at 11pm on weekends. The bar stays open later Thursday’s through Saturday.
