SummerFest Comes to Opryland and Music City USA This Summer
By Carol Muse Evans
There’s one cool place for families to get away this
summer, all under one roof.
Summerfest continues all summer at the Gaylord Opryland
Resort in Nashville, Tennessee, Music City USA. And it’s fun, music, games and
activities for the whole family — young and old.

Thursdays jump-start every weekend with a county party and
jamboree, presenting music from a Nashville country band, with entertainment and
activities such as lassoing cowboys and card sharks. Did we mention dancing? And
Tennessee artisans will display their crafts.
Every Friday night, kids, teens, parents and grandparents
can dance to beach music. Opryland becomes a boardwalk for ice cream and cotton
candy, and fun games like Limbo, Twister and Beach Blanket Bingo are held on the
property.
Saturdays are topped off with a Mardi Gras celebration and
carnival. Cajun food and drink will get you in the mood to enjoy the live music,
beads and coins, party hats, jugglers, magicians, jesters, stilt-walkers and
more Mardi Gras fun. And every evening’s event begins with a parade.

Other fun throughout the summer includes the hotel and
garden tours, kids’ activity stations, scavenger hunts, relaxation stations,
wine and cheese tastings for mom and dad, golf, swimming, and more. You can
learn more about other Nashville activities at
www.musiccityusa.com.
Special summer packages begin at $114 per person. For more
information, call 888-OPRY-872 or visit
