HOT NEWS! BLUE MESA GRILL’S 10TH ANNUAL HATCH CHILE FESTIVAL – WHAT TASTE
BUDS LIVE FOR!
It’s chile harvest time in New Mexico and Blue Mesa is
celebrating its 10th Annual Hatch Chile Festival. Hatch, New Mexico is
considered the "Chile Capital of the World." Blue Mesa imports these tasty
peppers at the height of their season to feature them in the festival parties
and specials which will be served for about a month (or whenever the chiles run
out). Blue Mesa has established itself as one of the primary spots in the state
for enjoying these seasonal peppers.
On Tuesday, August 8, Blue Mesa will kick off the festival
with a Hatch Happy Hour. Guests can enjoy free samples of Sauza Tres
Generaciones Plata, Reposado and Añejo as well as Hatch specials prepared by our
chefs. 5-7pm in the bar. All locations.
On Wednesday, August 23, Blue Mesa will host an
all-you-can-eat dinner buffet of Hatch chile specialties including steak relleno
tacos, red chile salmon with Hatch salsa, pozole, Hatch chile rellenos, salads,
desserts and more. All this for $10, cash bar. Dinners start at 5pm. All
locations.
Chiles are the cornerstone of Southwestern food. The
chiles that come from New Mexico’s Mesilla Valley are prized for their flavor
and fire and the Hatch, a type of Anaheim chile, is only available from this
region at this time of year. Throughout the month, Blue Mesa will offer Hatch
specials - Green Chile Pozole (cup $2.95, bowl $3.95), Hatch Green Chile
Rellenos ($9.50), Steak Relleno Tacos ($8.95), Beef Tenderloin Wrapped Chile
Relleno with Ranchera Sauce ($15.95), and Stacked Enchiladas with Chile-Pozole
Sauce ($8.50).
Also throughout the month, these items will be on sale:
Blue Mesa’s Fire Roasted Hatch Chile Salsa in pint containers ($2.95), and a
limited edition 10th Annual Hatch Chile Festival T-shirts ($10).
