WINTER PARK COVERS MUSICAL TASTES OF ALL TEMPOS

July Marks a Month of Music for Winter Park Resort and the Fraser Valley

Concert goers everywhere know that when the music is good and the destination is even better, there’s no stopping how far one will go to be at the summer’s best musical performances.  With acts like Widespread Panic and Shawn Colvin taking center stage in Winter Park during the month of July, Winter Park Resort and the Fraser Valley have your ticket to rock, ride and yes, even slide.

Home to over 600 miles of interconnected mountain bike trails, Winter Park knows a thing or two about going the distance.  Starting July 8, the town of Winter Park starts its month-long musical celebration with its 3rd Annual Winter Park Folk Festival.  Held in Hideaway Park, this free weekend musical event features independent musicians from around the country including Shawn Colvin, Jami Lunde Band and The Mammals.

The following weekend, July 15 and 16, Winter Park turns from folk to rock with the first ever Winter Park Rock n’ Ride Festival featuring Jefferson Starship and Blackfoot.  This weekend event pays homage to rocking and riding with a motorcycle contest, show, rodeo and expo.  The Winter Park Rock n’ Ride Festival is a free concert taking place from 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.  Additional performers include John Constanen, the original Greatful Dead pianist and veterans of the 1969 Woodstock Music Festival.

The area’s largest musical event takes place July 22-23, with Widespread Panic coming to Winter Park Resort.  Widespread Panic has established one of the most loyal fan bases the music industry has ever seen accounting for the sale of over 3 million albums, attendance records at some of the nation's most prestigious venues, and more than a decade on Pollstar’s Top 50 tours of the year.  Set amidst the Rocky Mountains, Widespread Panic’s stop at Winter Park Resort is sure to bring its fan base to a whole new elevation.

July 29-30, Winter Park rounds out July with the last music concert of month, The Winter Park Jazz Festival.  The Winter Park Jazz Festival will feature soulful sounds from Boney James, Lahah Hathaway and the Clarke/Duke Project.  General admission tickers are $40/day, VIP seating is available for $50/day.

For concert goers looking to play during their stay, Winter Park Resort offers the Park Pass for just $49.  With the Winter Park Resort Park Pass, guests can enjoy unlimited use of the resort’s activities including Colorado’s longest Alpine Slide and the Zephyr Express chairlift/bike transport to over 50 miles of mountain biking bliss.
