The Grand and Little America Hotels welcome the sixth annual jazz festival

This summer, Salt Lake’s luxury hotels, the Grand and Little America, will host the hottest, hippest jazz events in Utah during the Sixth Annual Salt Lake City International Jazz Festival. In addition to the main concert venues at the City & County Building’s Washington Square (located across the street from the hotels), selected artists will perform at both hotels throughout the weekend, Friday July 7th through Sunday, July 9th.

 

The Salt Lake City International Jazz Festival has evolved into one of the West’s premier jazz festivals, attracting jazz aficionados from across the country. This year’s festival promises to be even better with performances by artists such as Average White Band, Hiroshima, Patti Austin, The Rippingtons, Groove Society, E’NJ, The Great Basin Street Band, Ira Nepus, and Eddie Daniels.

To help celebrate Salt Lake City’s new reputation as a jazz Mecca, the Grand & Little America Hotels will host several jazz events throughout the weekend that will include:

Friday, July 7th

  • Buckets Beers and Blues in the Garden Café at the Grand. Guests will enjoy live music by Fat Soul with David Halliday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. *Seafood menu available.

  • Grand America Jazz in the Lobby Lounge from 10:30 p.m. to midnight. The Lobby will be transformed into Salt Lake’s hottest jazz lounge for an after hours performance by artists Robin Meloy-Goldsby of “Piano Girl” and Emilee Floor. *$15.00 cover charge, includes entrance and light appetizer.

  • Little America “After Hours” with Jack Wood and Quartet in the Steakhouse from 10:00 p.m. to midnight. *$10.00 cover charge, includes an appetizer.

 

Saturday, July8th

  • The annual Outdoor Pool Party from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Enjoy relaxing on the outdoor pool terrace and listening to the smooth sounds of jazz by the Joshua Payne Quintet. *$5.00 cover charge, poolside appetizers and specialty cocktails will be available.

  • Grand America Jazz in the Lobby Lounge from 10:30 p.m. to midnight. The Lobby Lounge will be transformed into Salt Lake’s hottest jazz lounge for an after hours performance by Groove Society. *$15.00 cover includes entrance and light appetizer.

  • Little America “After Hours” in the Steakhouse with E’nJ from 10:00 p.m. to midnight. *$10.00 cover charge, includes an appetizer.

Sunday, July 9th

  • Enjoy Jazz Sunday Brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Listen to live jazz music by Emilee and Greg Floor at Salt Lake’s acclaimed Sunday brunch at the Little America Hotel. * $24.95 for adults and $10.50 for children.

 

For the perfect jazz weekend getaway at The Grand America Hotel, guests can enjoy breathtaking mountain views and sounds of jazz echoing through downtown with the Jazz Festival Package. The package includes accommodations in a luxurious Premier Room, breakfast buffet in the Garden Café, admission to jazz events at the Grand and Little America Hotels, as well as Washington Square and a souvenir jazz CD. *Rate is $254 based on single occupancy and $279 for double occupancy per night (plus applicable taxes). The package is available Thursday, July 7th - Sunday, July 10th.
