Family Fun at Hyatt Resorts Caribbean
The trend of family travel continues to grow. A report
issued by the Travel Industry Association of America shows that family
travels accounted for 74% of all vacation travel in the United States last
year. The properties of Hyatt Resorts Caribbean are popular family
destinations that offer a range of family activities appropriate for a
variety of ages.
YOUNG CHILDREN SHARE OCEAN DIVING EXPERIENCE WITH
PARENTS AT HYATT REGENCY GRAND CAYMAN RESORT & VILLAS
Children as young as four no longer need a babysitter
when their parents embark on an ocean diving adventure. Now, thanks to
“SASY” and Red Sail Sports at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cayman Resort &
Villas, children can go “diving” right alongside mom and dad. SASY stands
for Supplied Air Snorkeling for Youth and the kids can easily be trained
with the equipment in a pool before moving on to the ocean. The aqua gear
provides a pleasant ocean experience because it eliminates use of the
traditional, and often times leaky, snorkel mouthpiece. The SASY gear is
designed and sized specifically for children and uses a customized regulator
that allows youngsters to breathe from a small scuba tank; a buoyancy
compensator keeps them safely floating on the surface. While one parent
accompanies (required) their child snorkeling on the surface the other
parent dives to get a closer look at the reef and fish below. For kids over
10, a variety of diving certifications are available. The Hyatt Regency
Grand Cayman is located on Seven Mile Beach in Grand Cayman, British West
Indies.
KAYAKS TAKE FAMILIES TO AQUATIC NURSERY “SCHOOL”
THANKS TO THE HYATT KEY WEST RESORT & MARINA
Children are never too old for a visit to this nursery
whose school of fish makes it an unusual educational experience. The Hyatt
Key West Resort & Marina offers guided tours by double kayak of the “nursery
reef,” home to baby sharks, baby turtles, sea cucumbers, starfish, and
varying birds such as pelicans, herons and egrets. A guide leads you on a
two-and-a-half-hour tour of the national wildlife refuge; limited to six
people, this is a unique event to experience with friends or family.
“Tuition” for this nursery is $59 per person; $49 for children under 12. The
Hyatt Key West Resort & Marina is located in Key West, Florida in Old Town,
just two blocks from colorful Duval Street.
TEEN/PARENT SPA PAMPERING AT HYATT REGENCY ARUBA
RESORT & CASINO
Let’s face it, teenagers want to be pampered and a spa
treatment accomplishes the goal perfectly. At the Stillwater Spa in the
Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort & Casino, a Father and Son or a Mother and
Daughter spa treatment includes a mini massage and mini facial along with
foot or hand massage. Results: quality family time, pampering, everyone
relaxed. Cost for the parent/child treatment is $220 for two. Other
activities offered by the resort that appeal to families include: rock
climbing and nature tours, guided and solo jeep tours, a trip to the aloe
factory, and hiking. The Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort & Casino is located in
Palm Beach, Aruba, on the southwest portion of the Caribbean island.
LEARN TO RIDE A BIKE AT HYATT DORADO BEACH RESORT &
COUNTRY CLUB IN PUERTO RICO
Never ridden a bike? It’s not that uncommon for city
slickers who may never have had the opportunity. Now, the Hyatt Dorado Beach
Resort and Country Club will teach old and young alike the joys of riding a
bicycle. Once learned it is a skill never forgotten, and with the
beachfront resort situated on 1,000 lush acres, it is a biking experience
always remembered. Free instruction explains the finer points of balance,
braking, and safety. For children, this is a kinder, gentler method than
the usual “frustrated parent” way used throughout the ages. Bicycles with
training wheels are available as are bike seat attachments (for infant and
toddler use) and Bobcats, a carriage pulled behind the bike for youngsters
to enjoy the ride while a parent does all of the pedaling. Each morning a
Family Bike Ride departs the resort at 9:00 a.m. The Hyatt Dorado Beach
Resort and Country Club is located in Dorado, on Puerto Rico’s “gold coast.”
