Get Your Motor Running
Motorcyclists Cruise To The Ultimate Road
Trip
Spectacular
inland & coastal scenery. Un-crowded highways that twist & turn. Great food
& friendly locals. Nova Scotia is the perfect destination for motorcyclists
in New England looking for an “out of the ordinary” road trip.
But getting there and back can be a drag. The Riders
Association of Triumph did some “out of the box thinking” then eliminated
the ride time to get to Nova Scotia by replacing it with a real ocean cruise
experience.
The result is the “2003 Nova Scotia Raid” with the
group of 35 riders and 23 motorcycles cruising round trip via the Scotia
Prince. The motorcycle enthusiasts depart from Portland Wednesday June 11 at
8 p.m. ET and arrive in Yarmouth Thursday June 12 at 8 a.m. AT. Their
motorcycles will be well cared for by the Scotia Prince Cruises crew who
have plenty of experience, having safely transported tens of thousands of
motorcycles. To assure no movement during the crossing the crew can provide
rubber chocks for both wheels and both sides of the engine skid plate.
Once in Nova Scotia the group has accommodations at
three locations across the province with all the custom arrangements
organized by Scotia Prince Cruises’ Group Department.
Nova Scotia and Scotia Prince are a perfect match for
motorcyclists looking for that special adventure. BMW Owners News calls the
Cabot Trail and Nova Scotia “a 'must do' ride and visit, among the most
beautiful places in the world", and Marilyn Stemp, Managing Editor of
IronWorks Magazine says of the cruise to NS “We've tried several ferries in
New England and the Scotia Prince is by far the most sumptuous."
Scotia Prince Cruises operates between Portland, Maine
and Yarmouth, Nova Scotia during the summer season and, as Yucatan Express,
between Florida and Mexico during the winter season.
Since 1970, Scotia Prince Cruises has treated 5.25
million passengers to world-class customer service and has securely
transported 900,000 vehicles of all shapes and sizes. The company recently
completed $2 million in ship upgrades and amenities including a new SkyDeck
with a Tiki bar & grill, hot tubs, disco, and sun deck, refurbished suites,
a remodeled and expanded tax & duty-free shop, new salon and massage spa,
photo shop/laboratory, and doctor’s office with fully equipped infirmary.
The ship is 485 feet long, fully stabilized with global capability and can
accommodate 1,000 passengers and almost 200 vehicles including motorcycles,
boats, campers, trailers RVs and Motor Coaches. She boasts 5 Star dining,
Las Vegas style gambling, Broadway-caliber entertainment, extensive tax and
duty-free shopping and a range of comfortable, private cabins.
