Everyone was Naked except meBy Madelyn Miller, the TravelLadyI arrived at the Turm Romantik Spa a day early, because of impending train strike in Italy.
As I slipped in, an attendant offered me water, apple juice or Prosecco. When I hesitating said water, she said, “no, have the Prosecco.”
Dressed in my fluffy robe, I carefully stepped on the large flat stones that led to the end bed. Looking around at the candles set in salty sand, the twinkling lights in the ceiling, and hearing the bird sounds in the background, I felt like I was cocooned in a sensual cave. As I perched on the edge of my bed, I became aware of my neighbors. There appeared to be two couples, each involved with their partner. It did not look like anyone was wearing clothes, although one couple did make a token covering gesture. I laid down, wrapped in a big towel, and covered by my
robe. They all left soon after.
The next area was a steam and sauna room and other spa amenities. But everyone was laying on red platforms with wrought iron headboards. Some were double beds, some were single beds.
Maybe I looked like a party crasher, dressed in my robe. Or perhaps I was overdressed. I did take pictures of both areas after everyone else left. What will I wear for my next glorious treatment at Romantik Turm Hotel? Stay tuned. Great Things to do at Romantik Turm Hotel With Your Clothes On
Sybarites and serious spa goers will enjoy the unique and incredibly indulgent treatments. Because Stefan designed the treatments and rooms around local ingredients, these are spa experiences unlike those anywhere else. And I speak from experience. My body has been rubbed all over the world, and I was fascinated by the creativity of these treatments. Romantics need only bring a partner and they will find renewal and relaxation. Wine lovers will be tempted by the wonderful selection of wines and if they are lucky enough to be visiting on a Friday night, they can have an incredible selection of cheeses in the wine cellar during an after dinner buffet.

Knowing I would be stressed from the journey, my hosts
thoughtfully arranged a spa treatment. First I was led to a dark room with
candles burning, baroque music and a large brass bathtub with oils and salts and
bubbles. My apple bath was a sensual soak in yogurt, apples, and coconut flakes
and other yummy ingredients.
Maybe
she knew I needed to relax, and that was only the beginning. After 30 soothing
moments in the swirling waters, she led me to the relaxation area. The
relaxation area looked like a grotto, with rock walls, pebble and stone floors
and 6 green bedlike resting platforms floating above the shallow waters.
They went out a thick door, and after a length of time, I
realized that that was the exit.
It was not until I left this area that I saw the sign that
said Nackt Zone.
Owner and chef Stefan Pramstrahler is the brilliant genius
behind not only the unique spa treatments, but also the fabulous food . He also
closely designed and supervised the recent addition to the 13th century property
which has been a castle, a jail, a courthouse and an inn.
Each day begins with a bountiful buffet
that you can eat inside while admiring the glorious view, or on nice mornings,
you can dine outdoors. A large selection of homemade breads, coffeecakes, local
cheeses, homemade jams, ham, meats, fruit, yogurt, cereals, crackers, and much
more will get your taste buds awake and ready for all the culinary surprises of
the day.
Serious foodies would be totally satisfied here just to
walk the gorgeous grounds between meals (that is probably what I should have
done instead of spending so much time pampering myself in the spa).
Honeymooners will get their marriages off to a great start
at this most sensual and delicious property. But after staring out at Romantik
Turm, I can’t imagine where you would go for your anniversary.
