May 20, 2004. The opening reception is Friday, April 16, 2004 from 6:30 –

Jeremy’s paintings are visual short stories that invite
the viewer to peer into his life and childhood. Having an immense curiosity
with plants, he uses color and texture to create almost child-like
landscapes integrating images of Japanese maples, poppies, wheat fields and
featureless houses which he says represent people. His paintings explode
with painterly color as he invokes the viewer’s curiosity. The theme, ONE OF
MANY, is beautifully conveyed in Jeremy’s unique style.
An accomplished artist, Jeremy received his formal art
training from the School of Visual Arts at the University of North Texas,
concentrating mainly in steel and bronze sculptures. Jeremy’s father died in
1998, suffering from amyloidosis, and it was this transition that compelled
Jeremy to return to painting with a more patient perspective in his work.
Jeremy Roden has also worked along side artists at Paramount Pictures to
create the Oscar nominated film Jimmy Neutron.
The exhibition, One of Many, is curated by Dallas
photographer and artist, Sarah Jane Semrad. The Magnolia Bar will rotate
fresh Dallas art every 6-7 weeks, with a portion of sales always going to
charity.
