According to an old adage, "Everyone is Irish on St. Patrick's Day."  From the emerald Isle to the farthest reaches of the planet, the Irish put on unforgettable "St. Paddy's" parties. Many of these events bleed green – that is, they are hosted at hostels with unique Irish twists to keep it real. So paint your face green, lift your pint of the black stuff and toast being an honorary Irish person for the day!

Loki Backpackers, La Paz, Bolivia

Located in "the city that touches the clouds," Loki Hostel is preparing for its grand opening on St. Patrick's Day with a celebration worthy of its majestic stature. A hearty helping of pork sausages and black and white pudding, an endless litany of Jameson and Guinness, and a healthy dose of Irish goodwill will commemorate the highest Irish-owned bar on the planet, opening its doors at a height of 12,000 feet.

Rooftop sundecks, barbeques and sunbathing are not activities normally associated with St. Paddy's Day, but when you're celebrating an Irish holiday in Singapore, things are destined to be different.
