Brushing up on Beauty

by Madelyn Miller, the TravelLady

My mother is a makeup maven. Each season she goes to the Estee Lauder counter at Saks and gets updated for current colors and techniques. Since I was a little girl, she has been trying to convince me how much better my life would be if I wore makeup.  Whenever I visit, she has some new tips and samples for me. So when I visit her, I wear makeup.

Last time I was there, her newest tool was a special makeup brush for foundation. She explained  that your makeup looked smoother and how much less makeup you used.

That was the thing that got me--saving money on makeup. My mother had just gotten an expensive brush. I decided I would look in a flea market and find something similar. I did. And it worked. But then I realized that a good makeup brush is really better.

You get what you pay for.

My mother was right about another thing. Quality really does make a difference. So when I heard about a new line of brushes--I decided it was time to try them. And am I ever glad I did. I think good makeup brushes are just like good shoes--you feel the quality. And you can never go back.
