LATIN AMERICA FOOD FESTIVALS: DANCE, MUSIC, SPORTS AND FOOD, GLORIOUS FOOD!

This summer, Hilton hotels in Latin America will debut a series of enticing culinary festivals. Guests will enjoy assorted dishes served with a variety of entertainment including dance, music, and soccer.   Featured festivals include: 

  • Hilton Buenos Aires “Mi Buenos Aires Querido” (May 22 – June 4): Hilton Buenos Aires exhibits the spirit of Argentina with a cultural extravaganza featuring a traditional Argentinean feast accompanied by the famous 2 x 4 rhythm of the tango.  Dishes include stuffed lamb, rabbit, barbecued meats, and pumpkin soup, followed by a display of tantalizing desserts.  Guests will also enjoy a live tango Show.

  • Hilton Buenos Aires “Sevillana Nights” (June 21 – July 16):  The energy and vibrancy of Sevillana, a flamenco dance originating in Seville, Spain, is brought to life at El Faro Restaurant.   Executive Chef Guillaume Bianchi tempts guests with a delectable buffet prepared with typical Spanish ingredients.  A special flamenco dance show features the sounds of guitarist Enrique de Cordoba.   For a lighter meal, Mosto Wine Bar will serve Spanish Tapas.

  • Hilton Colón Guayaquil “Mozart Celebration” (June 2):  In honor of composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s 250th birthday, Hilton Colón Guayaquil goes back in time to recreate one of music’s defining eras.  The hotel hosts an extravagant gala event, with dinner prepared by three chefs from Austria, Mozart’s home country.  The décor will pay tribute to the 18th century, and entertainment will be provided by Guayaquil’s symphony orchestra.

  • Hilton Cartagena “German Festival” (June 7 – June 18):  To celebrate the arrival of the long-awaited 2006 FIFA World Cup™, Hilton Cartagena invites guests to taste appetizing dishes from the Cup’s host country.  El Tinajero Restaurant will feature an array of German-inspired cuisine including roasted pork, sauerkraut, and sausages, all served as guests savor the musical stylings of a German trio.  Additional FIFA World Cup™ festivities will be at El Cangrejo Bar, transformed to resemble a soccer field and providing large screen projection of the games, uniformed bar employees representing this year’s favorites, and a local cocktail served in a souvenir replica of the FIFA World Cup™ trophy.

  • Hilton Sao Paulo Morumbi  “World Cup Passport” (June 9 - July 9):  Hilton Sao Paulo Morumbi makes it easy for soccer enthusiasts to feed their World Cup appetite during their stay in Brazil - five-time FIFA World Cup™ champion.  Canvas Bar debuts a special appetizer menu featuring dishes from 15 participating countries.  Menu highlights include Saudi Arabian kibbe, Japanese tempura, and Brazilian “fried mandioquinha,” known in English as fried arracacha.  Guests can keep track of their favorites with a World Cup calendar and live transmission of the games on the bar’s massive 13 x 10 ft. video wall.

  • Hilton Caracas “World Cup Festival” (June 9 – July 9):  Soccer fans everywhere can indulge their appetite at La Terraza Restaurant, with specialty dishes from several countries competing in the big event.   On the menu - delicacies of Argentina, Brazil, Italy, Mexico, and Spain, ranging from Argentinean “parrillada”– succulent grilled meat - to Brazilian “feijoada” - bean stew complete with beef and pork trimmings.   And, in the spirit of the game, a friendly competition will give guests a chance to win World Cup memorabilia.
