Who Doesn’t Like a Sale?: Thailand’s Grand Sale

Edited by Jennifer L. Price

I, like a lot of other people (I assume), enjoy a good sale.  I head straight for clearance racks, follow the signs that say “50% off”, and am more than willing to search through a bargain bin to find that oh, so perfect deal that I can brag about to my friends.

Traveling to Thailand between 1 June and 31 August might just be my dream trip: the country will be hosting The Thailand Grand Sale, Thailand's annual 2-month shopping extravaganza, which offers world-class shopping, a diverse selection of quality products and services, special discounts of 10 - 50 per centand promotional offers being extended by participating department stores, shopping complexes and retail outlets along designated ‘Shopping Streets’ in Bangkok and the popular tourist destinations of Chiang Mai, Pattaya, Phuket, Hat Yai as well as Nakhon Ratchasima.

The ‘Shopping Streets’ provide a convenient opportunity to spot great buys in an exotic range of unique crafts and cottage industry products, including exquisitely hand-crafted decorative items for home and living and fashion accessories, available in the traditional as well as contemporary design.

In addition to discount offers of up to 50 percent from participating establishments, check out the special promotions offered by retail and service outlets displaying the ‘Thailand Grand Sale’ decal. These include free gifts, vouchers and lucky draw prizes. To take advantage of these promotional offers, simply look out for the "Thailand Grand Sale" decal on display at participating outlets and charge your purchases on a Visa card.

BANGKOK’S ‘SHOPPING STREET’

THAILAND GRAND SALE FAIR 2007
The Thailand Grand Sale Fair 2007, the biggest annual exposition of the best products and services available in Thailand, is a hot favorite with ardent shoppers. The 3-day consumer fair provides convenient one-stop shopping for a varied selection of quality products from around Thailand at special discounts of 10-50 per cent and consistently attracts great interest from international visitors as well as local residents.
