Segway of Hawaii™ offering the newest form of personal
transportation device – the Segway® HT – has debuted in Hawaii, offering daily
historical tours, glide rides as well as leasing and sales of Segway HTs!
Operating from the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa in Waikiki, Segway
of Hawaii has a wide array of tours and glide rides for Segway HT enthusiasts to
enjoy. Segway of Hawaii also leases Segway HTs and also sells the personal
transportation devices locally to commercial entities and private businesses,
individuals and visitors wishing to have their Segway HT experience to enjoy
when they return home.
“The Segway HT is the first-of-its-kind – a self-balancing,
personal transportation device designed to place the rider in the same space as
pedestrians and give the same, but enhanced ability to move, navigate and stop
as people walking or jogging. Every aspect of the Segway is designed to
co-exist with people, sharing the same space,” said Alan W. Rice, owner of
Segway of Hawaii. “It is quiet, pollution free and gets the energy equivalency
of 450 miles per gallon. its remarkable technology can travel up to 24 miles on
a single charge of electricity, using 110V and is less than 10-cents per
charge.”
For all tours and glide rides, safety helmets are a must
and are provided at no extra charge. State law allows gliders from age 16 and
up (some custom-designed tours can accommodate younger children). Weight
maximum is 280 lbs., and tours are offered in English and/or Japanese. Each
Segway of Hawaii customer will undergo a 20-30 minute orientation and hands-on
training session…to ensure a safe and fun Segway HT glide is enjoyed by all.
