It’s Puppylicious at Lake Placid Lodge
Paws down, dogs are America’s hottest fashion accessory and
now more than ever accompany their masters everywhere.
According to the American Animal Hospital Association, more
than 68 percent of dog owners now travel with their pets. But for the Lake
Placid Lodge in the Adirondacks, having six legs arrive for check-in instead of
two has long been customary.
A new special welcome at this Relais & Châteaux resort,
designed to pamper even the most particular pooch, is being received with
howling approval.
Everyone loves flowers upon arrival, and Fido is no
exception –a Puppylicious Lollipup treat (shaped like a flower in a flower pot,)
a thirst-quenching bottle of Saratoga water, and a cheery welcome card from
Buddy, the resident golden retriever of Lake Placid Lodge await each dog.
Additionally, the room is set up with a special bed, food and water bowls, and a
personalized Pooch Pouch filled with colorful toys and tasty treats.
But there’s still more to guarantee a good face licking
from your beloved furball. A gourmet menu featuring such doggie delicacies as
chopped filet mignon, salmon filet, and even a side of anchovies is offered.
Local resources ranging from veterinary services to pet massages are available
for Fido’s every comfort.
At turndown, dogs receive a special “Pupcake” made from
all-natural unsalted peanut butter, and upon departure, they are presented with
a “Preferred Guest of Lake Placid Lodge” dog tag.
Four-legged visitors to Lake Placid Lodge have been known
to cool off with a dive in the lake, but guests need not worry about clean up,
as special “Puppy Attendants” will provide a bath using special soaps and
aromatherapy scents from Fideaux & Thibodeaux.
And guests who might be hesitant about traveling with their
beloved pet on a commercial airline will truly appreciate Lake Placid Lodge’s
special partnership with private air travel company, Sentinent Jet.
