See Spot! See Spot Run!
Run to the Parking Spot! Run!

By David Currier

After 30 years in the travel industry, my next “Congress should pass a law” cry will be to ban all flight departures before noon. Airlines should not be permitted to force us from our comfy beds at O-dark-thirty - before the morning paper has arrived to wick up last night’s rain.

Eyes still bloodshot, hair protruding like an English punk-rocker’s, I blindly explore the steering column with the ignition key, and skulk my way along foggy roadways to a bland parking lot in the middle of a countryside that nobody in their right mind ever wanted for their own. “What am I doing here,” I cry!

Face it, aside from the early departures and the hassles of airport security, there’s not much more stressful at major airports than finding a reasonably priced, secure parking space – at whatever hour of the day.

Spot to the rescue!

One of the newest and fastest growing low cost options for near-airport parking, the Parking Spot has captured the attention of travelers of all kinds - business and leisure, frequent or once in a lifetime and in between. Why's that? Well, you just gotta "see Spot run" once and you'll adopt them as your pet parking lot, too.  The Parking Spot has made airport parking child’s play.

First of all, the Parking Spot takes the hassle out of getting to your gate. Personally, I’ve experienced more than my share of waiting forever for a surly driver of an airport-operated shuttle to add to the travel apprehensions I already harbor because the boss is on edge about the client I’m off to visit. The Parking Spot's shuttles pass each drop-off area on an average of every 5-7 minutes. If in doubt, many airports have courtesy phones where you may call the dispatch office to advise them you are waiting. It’s impossible to miss their friendly, bright yellow with black polka dot 'van-logo'.

Reliability is of prime importance. And my experience with the Parking Spot's commitment to quality service, their friendliness, the value of their amenities, along with the reliability will always take the edge off my (and your) parking dilemmas. Their daily to-do-list almost–mission-statement is impressive:

- FREE USA Today for morning departures
- FREE Bottled water on your return
- COURTEOUS and helpful staff
- SECURE fully fenced parking areas
- ASSISTANCE loading and unloading luggage (don't forget to tip the driver)
- BATTERY service if yours dies on-the-Spot while you are out of town
- FREQUENT parker program (The Spot Club - you do not need a million points to claim your free parking award either)
- VALET, covered and outdoor parking (availability varies by design of location)
- CLEAN shuttles and parking areas
- DETAILING of your car while you are gone (at select locations)
- CORPORATE programs available (400 corporate clients include UPS, Home Depot, AOL Time Warner, Bell South)
- MAJOR credit cards accepted

In the past four years, "Spot" has bounded across America, establishing service at 13 facilities at nine American airports: Atlanta, Dallas/Ft. Worth International, Dallas Love Field, Houston Hobby, Houston George Bush Intercontinental, Los Angeles, Orlando, Kansas City and St. Louis.

Rates for parking at the Parking Spot vary by location. So, relax. Park your car and see “Spot” run at www.theParkingSpot.com for more information, rates and even advance reservations.
