TITAS OPENS ITS 2006-2007 DANCE SEASON WITH THE DALLAS DEBUT OF LYON OPERA BALLET

TITAS begins its 24th Dance Season with one of the world’s most innovative dance companies, LYON OPERA BALLET, on Friday and Saturday, October 13 and 14, 2006 at 8:00 PM at McFarlin Auditorium.  They will be premiering Great Female Choreographers of Europe, a salute to the works of Anna Theresa de Keersmaeker (Die Grosse Fuge), Sasha Waltz (Fantasie) and Marguy Marin (Groosland).

Founded in 1969, Lyon Opera Ballet is known for its experimental and adventurous repertoire. Widely praised as a classical company dancing contemporary choreography, Lyon Opera Ballet is revered for its innovative performances, and the company of choice for dance pioneers such as William Forsythe, Jiri Kylian, Maguy Marin, Nacho Duato, Angelin Preljocaj, Bill T. Jones, Trisha Brown, and others. Under the leadership of Yorgos Loukos, the company has commissioned works from young choreographers and performed innovative productions of great classics, among them new versions of Cinderella and Coppélia by Maguy Marin.
