Titas Opens Its 25th Anniversary Season With Longtime Dance Favorites Momix

I moved to Texas from New York. It was a bit of culture shock. After wonderful Broadway plays and fabulous theatre performances, I longed for the wonders of the stage.

Then Titas stepped up to the plate. Now TITAS is entering its 25th year of presenting Dallas audiences with the world’s best in dance and music. And no I no longer miss new work dance and theatre. It comes here along with the best of the international music and dance groups.

Titas will open the 2007- 2008 Dance Season with the return of TITAS favorite MOMIX on Saturday, September 29 at 8:00 PM and Sunday, September 30 at 3:00 PM at McFarlin Auditorium.

A spectacular blend of physical theatre, circus, athleticism and comedy that pushes dance to a new level, MOMIX will be performing a “Best of MOMIX” program that will feature excerpts from many of their most popular full-length creations.

Known internationally for presenting work of exceptional inventiveness and physical beauty, MOMIX is a company of dancer-illusionists under the direction of Moses Pendleton. For over 25 years, MOMIX has been celebrated for its ability to conjure up a world of surrealistic images using props, light, shadow, humor and the human body. In addition to stage performances world-wide, the company has frequently worked on special projects, in film and in television, and was most recently seen in a national commercial for Hanes underwear.

TITAS is the premier presenter of eclectic and international dance and music performers in North Texas. Founded by Tom Adams in 1982 as a non-profit 501(c)(3) cultural/educational institution, TITAS has provided Dallas/Fort Worth audiences with such performers as American Ballet Theatre, Pilobolus, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Philip Glass, KODO Drummers, STOMP and many others. TITAS is now celebrating its 25th Anniversary Season under the direction of current Executive Director Charles Santos.
