BLUES, BREWS AND BARBEQUE
Charleston Grill, the premier restaurant in Charleston,
South Carolina,
is celebrating Labor Day with the finest southern barbecue event of the year!
Chef
Bob Waggoner of Charleston Grill, along with special guest Frank Marvin of
Marvin’s Meats, will host the Seventh Annual Blues, Brews and Barbecue on
Sunday, September 5, with family-style seating at 6 and 8 p.m. Festivities will feature dozens of unique
southern barbecue specialties such as Whole Smoked Pig, Young Suckling Pig and
Smoked Grouper Cheeks with Lemon, and Homemade Curry with Venison and Wild
Blueberry Sausage. Each dish will be
specially paired with the world’s finest ales from around the globe.
Guests
of Blues, Brews and Barbecue will spend the evening sampling sumptuous “suds”
from several breweries, each featuring a selection of handcrafted brews while
talking with representatives from breweries such as Red Hook, Harpoon Brewing,
Sierra Nevada and New Castle. Additionally, Shrimp City Slim will perform spine-tingling blues
throughout the evening at Charleston Grill.
To add to the excitement of this
annual barbecue tradition, Charleston Place will hold a drawing on the night of
the Blues, Brews and Barbecue for an all-expense paid journey for two aboard
the world-renowned Venice Simplon-Orient-Express Train. The
lucky winner will travel in fashion from Venice to London aboard the
beautifully restored blue-and-gold carriages of the Venice Simplon
Orient-Express, and be transported back to an era of relaxation and civilized
travel deluxe.
Tickets for the Labor Day Blues, Brews and Barbecue
celebration are $55 per person. A
special weekend package rate of $495 will be offered to guests of Charleston
Place, based on double occupancy, including luxurious two-night accommodations
and two tickets to the event. A portion of the proceeds from the barbecue will
be donated to the Charleston Area Crisis Ministries. Attendees are asked to contact Kimberly Collins at 843-724-8119
to reserve tickets.
