Grandparents of this millennium are younger, healthier
and taking their grandchildren away on vacation more and more. In 1999 Aruba
Sonesta Resorts identified this trend and created the "Grandfamily
Getaway" package to bring generations together in the warm sun and surf of
the Caribbean for fun, cross-generation family bonding and good, old-fashioned
relaxation at an easily affordable price. The "Grandfamily Getaway"
package is back by popular demand with fabulous new additions to the 2000
package. The "Grandfamily Getaway" travel package
features new ways to make the "Grandfamily" smile: an upgrade based
on availability, four tickets to Hot Tickets in Aruba Sonesta’s Star Dust
Theater, and a family picnic. Also included are five-night deluxe
accommodations, an off-road vehicle rental for a day of island exploring (see
“Essential Information for specifications), and guests’ choice of a Caribbean
Beach BBQ or theme dinner. Grandchildren will love Aruba Sonesta’s fantastic
"Just Us Kids" program for 5 to 12 year olds, 7 days a week. It
provides lunch or dinner and supervised activities, including games and water
sports on private Sonesta Island, and excursions in and around Seaport Village
(see “Essential Information for further specifications). The Aruba Sonesta Resorts offers plenty for guests of
all ages. It is the only resort just steps from movie theaters, cafes,
nightclubs, restaurants, and a colorful marina marketplace filled with more
than 140 boutiques. Guests can enjoy Sonesta Island, Aruba Sonesta’s
for-guests-only 40-acre island boasting white sand beaches and an outdoor
restaurant. Grandparents can visit the Crystal Casino, the island’s only
24-hour casino, which is located in the hotel. There is also the Broadway-style
Hot Tickets starring Jerome, a rare, white Bengal tiger, who can be visited in
his habitat at Seaport Village. No matter your place in the family, this

“Grandfamily” Package prices start at $829 for four, and
if Mom and Dad tag along, a second room is available for only $132 per night.
Tax and gratuities are not included. At least one grandparent must be 55 years
of age or over to qualify for this package price, which represents a 15%
discount off regular package prices. Package valid throughout 2000, pricing
valid 4/29-12/22/00. Jeep rental is for one 24-hour period and does not
include gas or insurance. Package includes one jeep per room per stay. “Just Us
Kids” day programs run from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with lunch, for $10 per
