An attitude of health, wellness and a balance within the mind and spirit are making a comeback in this harried, stressed world of the ‘90s. The Eden Roc Resort & Spa in Miami Beach, Florida recently opened a 349-room  Lifestyle Wellness Spa, combining contemporary philosophies of well-being with nutrition and the hottest fitness trends with a series of programs, speakers, discussion groups and information to spa members and their guests, in an effort for people to live life to its fullest.

Spa Director, Ellen Latham, explained how people are beginning to notice that their quality of life needs improvement. “The center focuses on an attitude of health and well-being that fuels the soul and balances the body and spirit.

Wellness Center Directors, Dr. Patrece Frisbee, D.C. and Angela M. Lombardi, with Latham, have managed to offer the latest in holistic treatments and lifestyle counseling, with a host of industry professionals.  Some featured professionals include Asian medicine specialist, David Sontag, relationship specialist, Rachel Levy and nutrition authority Chef Greg. In addition, special make-up offers by renowned “make-up artist-to the-stars” Nancy Rand of Touch Cosmetics are offered.

This 35,000 square-foot spa offers a variety of other services, including massage therapies and body treatments, complimentary use of steam, sauna, Swiss showers and pools and access to the resort’s Olympic-sized swimming pool. Other amenities include use of a cardiovascular theatre, with the latest computerized treadmills, cycling and stair climbing equipment and a 16-channel personal audio/visual system that allows the guest to listen to music and/or watch television, while exercising. The indoor sports club offers high and low-impact aerobics, as well as spinning and box aerobics and martial arts.  There is also signature rock climbing arena, and regulation basketball, squash and racquetball courts.
