THE GREAT AMERICAN WEST

SUN-FILLED SKIES OF KAH-NEE-TA RESORT

Kah-Nee-Ta Resort, located on the sun-drenched banks of the Warm Springs River, features unmatched outdoor adventure and fun, punctuated by rich American Indian culture. Kah-Nee-Ta provides an exciting vacation destination to travelers searching for a holiday that offers not only relaxation and excitement, but also an enriching Native American learning experience.

Kah-Nee-Ta is unique because it is owned and operated by the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs. Built on the eastern edge of the Warm Springs reservation, the resort is designed to blend in with its surroundings and provide a source of vitality for the community. In turn, guests can experience authentic Indian culture and enjoy hundreds of activities and amenities the resort has to offer.

A key ingredient to any vacation is relaxation, and from its luxurious hot mineral spring's pool and spa, to the sheer peacefulness of its stunning desert setting, Kah-Nee-Ta is the ideal place to unwind. "Kah-Nee-Ta provides visitors with the opportunity to dissolve their tensions and enjoy the quiet.  You can either immerse yourself in activities, or strip them all away," says Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs Chief Delvis Heath.

Amenities

Accommodations range from authentic Indian teepees, to spacious rooms in the arrow-shaped lodge. The Village also offers lodging as well as an Olympic sized pool, which fills from a source of natural spring mineral water that is so hot it actually has to be cooled. It includes Spa Wanapine (meaning "spa by the river"), a complete hydrothermal spa providing Aveda body treatments, aromatherapy and massage-easily one of the finest spas in the Northwest.

Culture

Visitors to Kah-Nee-Ta are able to fully immerse themselves in Native American culture and the feeling of the American west.  Storytelling, craft demonstrations, traditional dances, music and food are all a part of the Kah-Nee-Ta experience. Also, within ten miles is the Museum at Warm Springs, a nationally renowned center dedicated to preserving, highlighting, teaching and celebrating the traditions and culture of Northwest Indian tribes.

Adventure

The Deschutes River is known for thrilling white water rafting as well as some of the best and most plentiful Steelhead fishing in the world. Unique to Kah-Nee-Ta, visitors accompanied by an Indian guide can fish the prized portion of the Deschutes that flows through the reservation, otherwise off-limits to non-Indians. The rugged western landscape around Kah-Nee-Ta is a frontier to be explored. Kah-Nee-Ta features horseback riding, mountain bike rentals and dozens of hiking trails to take visitors deep into tribal lands.

Dining and Nightlife

Visitors can enjoy either a traditional Native American feast of fire roasted salmon or dine in the lodge's Juniper dining room. Guests staying in teepees can shop the Village's general store for campfire food and the Pinto Grill is a great casual spot to dine. After dinner, visitors can choose to enjoy the solitude of the wide, clean, starry night-skies or try their hand in the Indian Head Casino.
