�HORIZON�S -- THE 20TH CENTURY��CELEBRATES TURTLE CREEK CHORALE�S 20TH SEASON The Turtle Creek Chorale (TCC), Dallas� world-renowned 225-member male chorus, announces its 1999 � 2000 season entitled, �Horizon�s: The 20th Season,� under the direction of Artistic Director, Dr. Timothy Seelig.� The Chorale will continue to present all concerts at their performance home, The Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, 2301 Flora Street, Dallas, TX 75201.� On Sunday, October 10 and Wednesday, October 13, 1999, the TCC will present �A New Dawn.�� The end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 20th season for the TCC is marked by the �Best of the Century,� a musical journey through each of the past 10 decades arranged by Greg Gilpin and Warner Brothers.� The concert will include a multi-media presentation entitled �The Tortoise with a Flair� celebrating the proud 20 year history of the Turtle Creek Chorale. The Chorale�s holiday concert, �A New Day,� will be performed on Sunday, December 5; Wednesday, December 8; Monday, December 20; and Tuesday, December 21. �Carols for a New Millennium,� composed by Danny Ray and Reverend Mel White, is the backdrop for the Chorale�s annual holiday concert.� The annual toy drive will again benefit the Children�s Medical Center and Parkland Hospital.���� �A New Dimension� continues the excitement on Sunday, April 2 and Wednesday, April 5, 2000 as the Chorale travels to paradise.� The tropical journey begins as the TCC takes the audience on a fun-filled musical journey of resort destinations.� During the second act of the concert, the sounds of a musical paradise fills the Meyerson as the Chorale presents John Rutter�s �Lux Aeterna,� Andrew Lloyd Weber�s �Pie Jesu� and Gabriel Faure�s �In Paradisum.�� On Sunday, June 18 and Wednesday, June 21, 2000, �A New Dream� completes the anniversary season as the Chorale is joined by its sister chorus, The Women�s Chorus of Dallas (TWCD) to partner with The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.� The commissioned symphonic song cycle, �Sing for the Cure�: A Proclamation of Hope!,� will usher in the new century with healing and hope for a cure for breast cancer.� The Dallas Symphony Orchestra will accompany the performances.� The TCC has brought healing to millions of people around the world with �When We No Longer Touch� and the subsequent Emmy award-winning �After Goodbye: An AIDS Story.�� It is the hope of all involved to create another work that will raise awareness of breast cancer and heal the hearts of listeners throughout the world.� All subscription concerts begin at 8 p.m.� The Dallas Morning News, American Airlines and WFAA-TV/Channel 8 (ABC) are season sponsors.� Additional season support is provided by the Black Tie Dinner, City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs, TACA, The 500, Inc., The Fairmont Hotel, Dining at the Meyerson and Monarch Limousine.� Season ticket packages include one ticket to each of the four subscription concerts.� Patrons may choose performances on Sunday and Wednesday.� Season ticket prices per package are $108.00, $90.00, and $50.00 per seat based upon seating section selection.� Tickets may be purchased in person at the TCC office at the Sammons Center for the Arts, 3630 Harry Hines Boulevard, Suite #306, Dallas, Texas 75219, by phone at 214-526-3214, ext. 102, or at� http://www.turtlecreek.org.
