Winter Harbor’s Lobster Festival on August 12
When it comes to a
lobster festival that serves up more than food, consider Winter Harbor's annual
event from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on August 12. The 30-year old event held on the
lovely Schoodic Peninsula certainly features some of Maine's best lobsters, but
it also serves a healthy dose of some of the most spectacular and dramatic
scenery in Downeast Maine. In fact, the views along Route 1 provide a hint of
what is to come when you look out across Frenchman Bay to Cadillac Mountain and
Mount Desert Island. Naturally, there's live entertainment, parades and much
