IT’S EASY BEING GREEN
IN PRAGUE AND HUNGARY
Michelin Travel Publication Introduces New Green Guide
Titles for Prague and Hungary/Budapest.
The World Tourism Organization has predicted a growth
spurt in international travel to Eastern Europe, and Michelin Travel
Publications is ready to arm travelers with two brand new titles for this
region: The Green Guide Prague and The Green Guide Hungary/Budapest.
The
Green Guide Prague navigates travelers through the city's historic
past and educates them about its evolution into modern times. A veritable
museum, Prague reveals layers of history around every corner turned. Castles
and towers recall Prague's glorious period when the city lay at the heart of
the Roman Empire, while Baroque age palaces and churches abound. Moreover,
Prague boasts a collection of Modern architecture that is unrivalled elsewhere.
The city, which inspired both Mozart and Beethoven, is also famous for its
music. Listed in The Green Guide Prague
are concert halls, opera houses and wonderful churches that offer recitals.
Well worth a visit is the captivating country of
Hungary. Its capital city, Budapest, known as the "Pearl of the
Danube," possesses an architectural heritage that still shows vestiges of
various eras, from the Roman and Ottoman Empires to the early 20th Century Art
Noveau style. The Green Guide
Hungary/Budapest helps independent travelers discover the country and its
capital, delving into its rich heritage, art and music as well as its
extraordinary natural offerings, including more than 400 hot springs (spas)
with curative properties. A handy, six-page foldout map in the beginning of The Green Guide Hungary/Budapest
provides an at-a-glance overview of the country's principal sights, such as
ancient sites, castles, spas, lakeside resorts and picturesque villages.
The Green Guide collection now features information on
hotels and restaurants, colorful maps and a mélange of photography, bringing
each destination to life. Both editions of The Green Guide detail the history,
landscape, economy, art (including architecture), people, recreation and
cuisine and include a helpful Address Book, highlighting recommended hotels and
restaurants. Whether it’s searching for the trendy nightspots in Prague or
Budapest's royal treasures, travelers can count on Michelin's distinctive
star-rating system to ensure quality and accuracy.
