DIRTY DAYS and MUD MADNESSTHE EQUINOX INVITES GUESTS TO HAVE SOME "FUN IN THE MUD" DURING VERMONTS MUD SEASONby Madelyn Miller The historic Equinox Resort in Manchester, Vermont invites guests to do what theyve always been told not to do - play in the mud. Celebrating the end of winter and the beginning of spring, the "Fun in the Mud" Package includes deluxe accommodations, breakfast and dinner daily, hiking up muddy Mt. Equinox, and a special "mud" dessert to eat with your hands. Additional "muddy" activities can be added to the package including a lesson on the muddy course at the Land Rover Driving School*, "throwing mud" in a pottery class at Frog Hollow*, a beautifying full-body mud mask at The Equinoxs Fitness Spa* . Guests are encouraged to bring "mud proof" hiking gear.
Optional activities include: Off-Road Driving in the Mud* - Using Land Rover 4x4 vehicles provided by the school, guests will receive instruction in mastering muddy ascents, descents and ditches, all under the tutelage of expert off-road driving instructors. The Land Rover Driving School, which opened in April 1997, is the first permanently based, manufacturer-supported, year-round off-road driving school in the U.S.
"Mud Madness" at Frog Hollow - Vermont State Craft Center* - While working with the Centers resident potters, participants will learn hand building techniques and create a "mud masterpiece" to be glazed, fired and taken home. (Available on weekends only). Soothing Mud Treatment at The Equinox Fitness Spa* - Using vitamin and mineral-rich French mud's packaged at The Equinox, guests will indulge in the stimulating and relaxing benefits of this full-body spa treatment.
