by Madelyn Miller

The French Village, part of the $100 million expansion program at Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort & Spa, allows vacationers to enjoy the elegant, old-world style of Paris combined with the charm and warmth of the Caribbean.  The 166 beautifully appointed new deluxe rooms are complete with rich mahogany furnishings and king-size beds.  Authentic French doors provide views of the lush gardens and an impressive 4,000 square-foot freshwater swimming pool.

Guests wishing to sample European cuisine will enjoy three new restaurants, bringing the total number of dining experiences at the resort to nine, including a French Bistro and a cafe, providing a wide selection of scrumptious French pastries, coffee and baguettes.  Both the Bistro and the cafe feature al fresco dining in an open-air garden courtyard.  The French Village will round out its international flavor with the addition of an Italian restaurant.

At Beaches Resorts, we have always made it our policy to cater to people from all walks of life.  The new French Village is our way of welcoming the world to Beaches Resorts, explained John Lynch, executive vice president of sales worldwide for Unique Vacations, which represents Sandals and Beaches Resorts.  We have a long-standing history of making our international guests feel right-at-home with interpreters and special holiday events.  Now with our French Village, we have brought the best of Europe to the Caribbean.

The French Village is phase two of a $100 million development program at the property, which includes the recently opened $4 million, state-of-the-art Pirates Island kid center and water park featuring a huge wooden pirate ship surrounded by waterfalls and two giant waterslides, 50s-style diner, upgraded Sega Centre - featuring Dreamcast, the ultimate game experience, 54 new luxury rooms, 18 new suites and the expansion of three existing restaurants -- Kimonos, Reflections and Schooners.

The addition of the French Village brings the resorts total room count to 450 with nine restaurants to choose from.

Beaches Resorts are the newest addition to the Sandals chain of ultra all-inclusive resorts welcoming singles, couples, families and friends.  Beaches offers three locations, two in Negril, Jamaica, and the other in Providenciales, Turks & Caicos.
